Horsemanship is the only activity at camp that is not included in your basic camp fee. Horsemanship is offered for campers who will be age 10 or older by August 31.
Horsemanship Class Fee: $125 (includes 5 days of horsemanship class, one hour each day).
Classes are assigned by riding ability/experience. Contact registrar@camp-cherith.com for exceptions if your camper who is younger than 10 has significant horse experience.
Campers must wear non-slippery long pants such as jeans, socks, and closed toed shoes. Riding boots are preferred, and we have some boots available for campers to borrow. Tennis shoes are acceptable, but riders may not be able to use their stirrups if they are wearing tennis shoes.
Campers who are age 10+ (by August 31) who wish to ride a horse but who do not wish to take the horsemanship class may elect to sign up for a trail ride during free time or cabin time. Trail rides are free of charge.
Pony rides will be offered one day per week during free time for campers who are too young to participate in the horsemanship activity, and are free of charge.
